Breakaway Camp

Breakaway isn’t just about fun—though there’s plenty of that—it’s about growth. Students will be challenged and encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, ask big questions, and take real steps in their walk with Christ. Surrounded by caring adult leaders and new friends, each camper will have the chance to encounter God in a powerful and personal way.

Theme Nights for Camp!

Like last year, we are doing Theme Nights for Camp! (Don’t worry! We aren’t doing “Flannel/Lumberjack Night” again!)… This year, Theme Nights will be:
Monday: Superhero Night – Dress as your fave superhero or wear a shirt with them on it. 
Tuesday: Western Night– Breakout the boots, the belt buckles and the Cowboy hats!
Wednesday: Dress Like Your Youth Leader Night– This should be interesting…
Thursday: Camo Night– Camouflage clothing! 
 
Don’t forget! This year instead of doing a traditional offering at camp, we are going to do an offering of a different sort. We ask that your group bring some canned food and other food items to help support the Food Bank of Central Louisiana. (www.fbcenla.org) Below is a list of items your group can bring.
 
Most needed items:
  • Canned vegetable (beans, peas, carrots, etc.)
  • Canned soups
  • Dried beans
  • Canned meats
  • Peanut butter
  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Any canned, bagged or boxed nonperishable food.
  • Cereal
The food bank has someone who is coming to pick up the items at the end of the week. You can turn these in during registration time at the Activities Building.

Breakaway Youth Camps are our full-week youth camps. They are for 7th-12 graders, and 6th graders are welcome if your church youth ministry includes 6th grade. Youth are in Bible study according to grade. Sports tournaments and breakout activity choices are available during the day. Evenings include worship, a Gospel-centered youth evangelist, church group meeting times, and late night hangout. Our Youth Camps have been described as similar to the large Centrifuge camps. They are the same impact and worship-driven camps, but available here in Louisiana! There is also a shorter weekend option for this camp.
