If we are losing our juniors and seniors, let’s compel them to stay involved in church and living on mission.Students will earn the privilege to go on this trip through completing ministry assignments and objectives. Examples may be 75% Sunday School attendance, being involved in ministry, being in a discipleship group, recommendation from the pastor, reading and reporting on certain books, memorizing the books of the Bible and verses.
Purpose: 85% of Louisiana Baptist churches have 12 students attending. Of the 12, only 1 or 2 are HS seniors. It is not likely they would have a wholesome senior trip. By default, they go with their friends from school where there is drinking, drugs, sex, etc. The current proposal seeks to provide our LBC seniors with a trip of a lifetime. The majority of churches that will take advantage of this are small to medium churches because most large churches do their own Senior Trip. However, any LBC student is welcome to come. There are incredible Christian seniors that have worked hard to stay pure, holy, and committed to Christ. They deserve a great senior trip as a reward for a job well done. This trip will help them transition into college and encourage them to remain connected to church.
College Transition: This will allow our colleges to connect with incoming freshmen and get them involved. BCM Directors and college students will assist in leading the event.
Leaders: Youth leaders from churches are welcome. Additionally, BCM’s will send group leaders. Students attending a certain college will be led by that college’s BCM. For instance, the students attending Louisiana Tech would have the Tech BCM rep as their group leader.
